Knowing (who) the Important People / Occupation in My Community

Learning Objectives
Indicator: K1.4.2.1.6 - Draw themselves in the uniform of their aspired future job, colour it nicely and write the name of the job underneath.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Name at least one future job they aspire to do when they grow up.
- Talk about why they chose that job, using one or two simple reasons (e.g., “I want to help people”).
- Draw a picture of themselves wearing the uniform of their chosen job, based on pictures and posters shown in class.
- Colour their drawing neatly, staying within the lines as much as possible.
- Write or trace the name of their chosen job underneath the drawing, using the letter sounds learnt in previous weeks.

Show poster and/or pictures depicting professionals in informs. Learners choose their future jobs and talk to each other about why they made that selection. Learners draw and colour themselves and paste it all round the classroom. Have learners be in groups according to their chosen profession and count the members in each group. Represent the number visually
