Learning Objectives

Indicator: K1.4.1.1.5 - Colour nicely a scene from the community and label it.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Talk about one special place in the community they have visited or seen in pictures
Draw a simple scene showing a special place from the community
Colour the scene neatly, staying within the lines as much as possible
Label the scene using their own invented spelling (e.g., writing “hospl” for hospital or “mkit” for market)
Explain their picture to a friend, telling what place they drew and why they chose it
Paste the finished picture in the classroom as part of a community gallery
