Knowing the Special Places in My Community

Learning Objectives
Indicator: K2.4.1.1.2: Listen attentively to a read aloud of an informational text about special places and participate actively in the KWL reading technique asking and answering one’s own questions.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Recall and say at least one place they already know in their community during the K (Know) step of the KWL chart.
- Ask at least one question about special places they want to learn about during the W (Want to know) step.
- Listen attentively to a read aloud of an informational text about special places in the community.
- State at least one new fact they learned about a special place during the L (Learned) step of the KWL chart.
- Respond to simple questions about the read aloud text with prompting and support.
