Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.4.3.1.5 - Create art works inspired by places in our culture and country.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify and talk about the key elements they see in a picture of a chief’s palace, such as the umbrella, the stool, and the drum.
  2. Describe the colours and patterns they see on the royal umbrella in the picture.
  3. Create their own picture of a royal umbrella using paper, colours, and simple craft materials.
  4. Label their artwork with the word “umbrella” or “royal umbrella” with support from the teacher.
  5. Share their finished artwork with a friend and talk about one thing they like about it.
