Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.3.4.1.1 - Describe kitchen essentials

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define kitchen essentials as the vital tools and equipment needed for meal preparation and service.
  2. Identify at least 10 different kitchen essentials found in a typical Ghanaian home or school kitchen.
  3. Group kitchen essentials into at least three categories based on their function in the kitchen.
  4. Explain the specific purpose of common kitchen essentials such as the saucepan, can opener, colander, cutting board, vegetable peeler, soup tureen and crockery.
  5. Speak clearly to describe a kitchen essential and its use to a partner or small group.
