Learning Objectives
Indicator: B9.3.3.1.2 - Demonstrate appropriate skills in the use of joining and assembling tools and equipment for making artefacts/products
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Demonstrate the correct use of at least three joining tools (e.g., hammer, screwdriver, glue gun, needle) to assemble a simple artefact.
- Perform the step-by-step process of joining parts to complete a wooden bookshelf or similar wooden product within the lesson period.
- Apply appropriate joining methods for different materials, choosing between nails, screws, adhesives, and stitches based on the material type.
- Demonstrate proper care and maintenance of joining and assembling tools by cleaning, drying, and storing them correctly after use.
- Work collaboratively in groups to assemble an artefact while observing safety precautions when using joining tools and equipment.

Demonstrate how to use materials, tools and equipment for making products/artefacts in joining and assembling products/artefacts E.g. - A wooden bookshelf - Metal scoop - Bonding a wall - Garment-sew garments from cut-out styles in cutting/shaping lesson. Use glue to join parts of the garment. Note: There are modern methods of joining parts of articles such as fusing and adhesives - Meals-use modern joining methods such as use of oats, silicon, and egg white to prepare food. E.g., Cabbage, fufu 2. Demonstrate how to care for and maintain joining and assembling tools and equipment used for making artefacts/products, in groups. E.g. - Wash and clean tools after use. - Dry tools thoroughly before storage
