Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.2.2.1.3 - Demonstrate how to use Special Characters. Design a 7-slide presentation in MS-PowerPoint using the tools under the Insert ribbon.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the Symbol group under the Insert ribbon and locate the Special Characters feature in MS-PowerPoint.
  2. Insert at least three different special characters (such as ©, ®, ™, €, ₵, or arrows) into text placeholders on a slide.
  3. Explain the difference between symbols and special characters and give one example of when each is useful.
  4. Design a complete 7-slide presentation on a chosen topic, inserting at least one special character or symbol on three different slides.
  5. Present their completed 7-slide project to a partner or small group, explaining which Insert ribbon tools they used and why.
