Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.2.2.1.2 - Explore features of MS-PowerPoint interface.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify and name at least six major parts of the MS-PowerPoint window (title bar, ribbon, slide pane, notes pane, status bar, quick access toolbar).
  2. Differentiate between the different views available in MS-PowerPoint (Normal, Outline, Slide Sorter, Reading, Slide Show) and state the purpose of each.
  3. Apply a theme and a template to a presentation and describe the difference between the two.
  4. Use the Proofing and Language group under the Review tab to run a Spelling and Grammar check and use the Thesaurus on a selected word.
  5. Navigate the MS-PowerPoint interface independently to locate tabs, groups and commands needed to complete a task.
