Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.2.4.1.3 - Demonstrate the use of data tables, pivot tables, charts and pivot charts

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define a data table and a pivot table and explain the difference between them.
  2. Create a pivot table from a given dataset to summarise information, such as counting males and females in the class.
  3. Use the sort and filter features of a pivot table to rearrange and narrow down data summaries.
  4. Insert a pivot chart from a pivot table to visually display data, such as a bar chart of male and female counts.
  5. Interpret a pivot chart and state at least one conclusion drawn from the displayed summary.
