Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.2.3.1.2 - Describe a desktop published document

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define a desktop published document and identify at least four common types (flyers, advertisements, invitation cards, business cards).
  2. Describe the key features of a desktop published document, including text position, image placement, colour use, and layout balance.
  3. Examine a peer’s desktop published document and describe its strengths and weaknesses in writing, using at least three of the given criteria (position of text and images, use of colour, mechanics, content accuracy).
  4. Use appropriate vocabulary (layout, alignment, font, margins, white space, balance) when describing a desktop published document orally and in writing.
  5. Exchange documents with a partner and give clear, respectful feedback that helps the partner improve their document.
