Learning Objectives
Indicator: B5.5.1.3.4 - Identify types of databases and data.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least four different types of databases (e.g. flat-file, relational, hierarchical, network, cloud) and give one real-world example for each.
- Distinguish between structured, semi-structured and unstructured data, and sort given examples into the correct category.
- Group data items as either quantitative data (numbers) or qualitative data (descriptions) with at least 80% accuracy.
- Present findings from a group investigation on types of databases and data to the class using a simple chart or poster.
- Complete a data identification table matching everyday Ghanaian situations to the correct data type and database type.
