Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.1.2.LI.3 - Discuss ways of promoting national cohesion in Ghana

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define national cohesion and explain why it matters for Ghana’s development and stability.
  2. Identify at least four practical ways to promote national cohesion in their schools, communities, and the nation at large.
  3. Analyse how Ghana’s shared values, national symbols, and institutions such as the Independence Day celebration and national durbar contribute to unity.
  4. Role-play a realistic scenario showing how citizens can resolve differences peacefully and build trust across ethnic, religious, and political lines.
  5. Evaluate at least one challenge to national cohesion and propose a workable solution, using critical thinking and evidence from class discussions.
