Lesson notes

Learning Objectives

Indicator: B4.4.7.4.1 - Écrire ce que font des personnes qui exercent différents professions et métiers

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Write short, complete sentences in French describing what a person does in a given profession or métier (e.g., Le maître enseigne. Le fermier cultive la terre.)
  2. Match a list of profession names to simple written descriptions of daily tasks.
  3. Use correctly the third-person singular verb forms for at least 8 common professions and métiers studied in Term 3, Weeks 7 and 8.
  4. Write a short paragraph of 3 to 4 sentences describing the work of a family member or a person in their community.
  5. Use vocabulary from previous lessons (professions, family members, action verbs) to create original written sentences about different jobs.

This lesson builds directly on the vocabulary and oral practice from Weeks 7 and 8. Learners already know the names of professions, can ask and answer questions about jobs, and can say what they want to become. Today they shift from speaking to writing complete sentences about what people do in their jobs. Future lessons will extend to longer texts.
