Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.1.1.1.2 - Recognize and describe the different parts of book, (the front/ cover page of a book and back of a book) and relate the content of the text to our body parts.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Point to the front cover and back cover of a book when asked.
  2. Describe the front cover and back cover of a book using simple words such as “front”, “back”, “picture” and “title”.
  3. Identify their own front (face, chest, tummy) and back (back, neck) body parts when asked.
  4. Match the front cover of a book to the front of their body, and the back cover to the back of their body.
  5. Say one sentence connecting a book part to a body part, for example, “The front cover is like my face.”
