Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.5.2.2.1 - Explain the nature of viral diseases with special emphasis on corona virus (COVID-19) /Ebola/H1N1 disease its causes, symptoms, effects on humans and its prevention
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define a viral disease and state three distinct features of viruses that separate them from bacterial or fungal infections.
- Describe the causes and modes of transmission of COVID-19, Ebola, and H1N1 diseases from person to person, community to community, and country to country.
- List at least four symptoms and two long-term effects of each of the three viral diseases (COVID-19, Ebola, H1N1).
- Explain why COVID-19, Ebola, and H1N1 were declared pandemics by global health authorities.
- Design a poster that educates community members on the prevention of one of the three viral diseases studied.
