Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.1.4.1.1 - Identify ways of promoting food safety

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. List at least five ways of promoting food safety at home and at school.
  2. Explain why each food safety practice (washing hands, covering food, serving in clean plates, serving cooked food hot) is important.
  3. Demonstrate the correct steps for washing hands before handling or eating food.
  4. Demonstrate how to serve cooked food hot and safely using appropriate utensils.
  5. Practise good table manners when eating with others at home and at school.
