Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.5.1.1.2 - Interact actively with teacher during the Shared reading of the text on celebration of Independence Day and other national celebrations of the country.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Share what they already know about the 6th March Independence Day celebration.
  • Ask simple questions about what they want to learn about Ghana’s national celebrations.
  • Listen attentively during the shared reading of a picture text about Independence Day.
  • Answer simple questions about the text during and after the reading, such as “What happens on 6th March?”
  • Name at least one other national celebration in Ghana, such as Republic Day or Farmers’ Day.
