Theme discussion: Use the KWL strategy, during the community circle time to discuss the theme. The K stands for what the pupils know about Ghana's Independence Day and W-they ask question about what they want to learn. The teacher or the resource person shares ideas or reads a book to pupils on the theme. Pupils then share what they have learned (L). Learners must be encouraged and given the opportunity to ask questions freely when the resource person is talking about the theme and the roles of the leaders. End by singing the National Anthem and pay attention to the words.
