Learning Objectives
Indicator: K2.5.1.1.7 - Identify Ghanaian coins and money by name and use it to buy and sell in the classroom store.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Name at least three Ghanaian coins (1 pesewa, 5 pesewas, 10 pesewas, 20 pesewas, 50 pesewas, GHS 1) and the GHS 1 coin when shown.
- Touch and feel the coins and describe at least one feature of each coin, such as its colour, size, or shape.
- Sort and match coins to their correct names when playing an identification game.
- Use coins to buy and sell items in the classroom store by exchanging the correct coin for a priced item.
- Count out the correct number of coins to pay for an item priced up to GHS 2 in the classroom store.
