Learning Objectives

Indicator: 3.1.3.LI.7 - Discuss the concept and types of rehabilitation.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define rehabilitation in their own words and state its primary goal as restoring function and independence after injury or illness.
  2. Identify and describe at least four types of rehabilitation: physical, occupational, psychological, and substance abuse rehabilitation.
  3. Differentiate between rehabilitation and simple medical treatment by explaining what makes rehabilitation a process rather than a single intervention.
  4. Match appropriate types of rehabilitation to specific health conditions or injuries in given scenarios.
  5. Explain why rehabilitation is an ongoing process that requires patience, discipline, and commitment from the patient and the rehabilitation team.
