By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define an adverbial phrase and distinguish it from a single adverb.
- Identify adverbial phrases in given sentences and state the function each performs (how, where, why, or when).
- Construct their own sentences using adverbial phrases to describe how, where, why, and when an action happens.
- Revise sentences by replacing single adverbs with adverbial phrases to add detail and precision.
- Use adverbial phrases appropriately in a short written paragraph about a familiar topic.
