Indicator: B9.3.1.2.2 - Use defining and non-defining relative clauses appropriately in speech and writing.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Define a relative clause and identify the relative pronouns (who, whom, whose, which, that) used to introduce them.
Distinguish between defining and non-defining relative clauses by their function and punctuation in given sentences.
Construct original sentences using defining relative clauses to give essential information about people, places and things.
Construct original sentences using non-defining relative clauses, correctly placing commas, to add extra information about people, places and things.
Choose correctly between “which” and “who” and apply the comma rule when combining two independent clauses into a sentence containing a relative clause.
