Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.3.3.1.1 - Demonstrate knowledge of verb tenses in reading of a semi vowelized script by identifying the verb in imperfect tense and pointing out person/gender/number.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the imperfect tense verb (الفعل المضارع) in a semi vowelized Arabic text and distinguish it from other word types.
  2. Extract the imperfect verb from a given sentence and state its root letters.
  3. Determine the person (first, second, or third) of an imperfect verb and justify their answer by referring to the pronoun it agrees with.
  4. Determine the gender (masculine or feminine) of an imperfect verb by examining its prefixes and suffixes.
  5. Determine the number (singular, dual, or plural) of an imperfect verb and point out the relevant marker.
