Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.3.1.1.3 - Demonstrate command of the use of adjectives in discourse

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify adjectives in given sentences and passages and state what they describe (person, place, material, object, or feeling).
  2. Classify adjectives by their function: descriptive, quantitative, demonstrative, and possessive.
  3. Use a range of adjectives to write vivid descriptions of people, settings, materials, and objects in two to three sentences each.
  4. Order multiple adjectives correctly in a sentence (opinion, size, age, colour, material) when describing a single noun.
  5. Revise a plain, uninteresting passage by adding appropriate adjectives to make it more vivid and engaging.
