Learning Objectives
Indicator: B1.1.9.1.2 - Make and respond to polite requests using the word “Please”
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the word “please” in spoken sentences and explain why people use it when making requests.
- Make polite requests using “please” in complete sentences, for example, “Please give me your pencil.”
- Respond to polite requests using appropriate responses such as “Yes”, “Ok”, “No, sorry”, or “Here you are.”
- Use “May I…?” and “Can I…?” structures to make polite requests, for example, “May I use your pen?”
- Take turns in pairs to make and respond to polite requests, changing roles between requester and responder.
