Lesson notes

Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.4.3.LI.2 - Reconstruct a poem into another creative expression (song, painting, parodies)

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the central theme, mood and key images of a given poem and explain how these elements could transfer into a different art form such as a song, painting or parody.
  2. Reconstruct a selected poem into one creative expression of their choice (song, painting, parody or mind map) while preserving the poem’s core meaning.
  3. Justify the artistic choices they made during reconstruction, explaining how their new work reflects the original poem’s themes and emotions.
  4. Work collaboratively in mixed-ability groups to plan, execute and present a creative reconstruction, giving and receiving constructive feedback.
  5. Assess their peers’ reconstructions using simple criteria such as faithfulness to theme, creativity and clarity of expression.
