Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.4.4.2.1 - Identify simple machines.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define a simple machine and distinguish it from a complex machine.
- List at least six examples of simple machines found in their homes, school and community.
- Categorise given tools or devices as either simple machines or complex machines, giving a reason for each choice.
- Classify simple machines into their basic types (lever, pulley, wheel and axle, inclined plane, wedge and screw) using everyday objects as examples.
- Work in groups to identify and present the simple machines used in a common Ghanaian workplace or activity.
