Indicator: B3.2.9.1.2 - Recognise more than two hundred high frequency words with automaticity
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Read at least 20 new high frequency words from the class word wall without sounding them out letter by letter.
- Identify and name sight words quickly when playing the Fishing game and the Lucky Dip game.
- Locate and circle high frequency words within a short passage or on a printed text.
- Construct at least three meaningful sentences using given sight words.
- Work with a partner to read a short text, pointing out sight words they recognise instantly.
