Learning Objectives
Indicator: B5.4.3.4.4 - Describe the role of muscle strength and proper lifting in the prevention of back injuries.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain what muscle strength is and identify the main muscles involved in lifting (arm, chest, and back muscles).
- Demonstrate at least three correct body positions for lifting heavy objects safely.
- Describe how strong back, chest, and arm muscles help protect the spine from injury.
- List at least four common mistakes that can cause back injuries when lifting.
- Explain why proper lifting technique matters in everyday situations such as carrying school bags, farming loads, or moving household items.
