By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define drugs and give at least two examples of substances that are considered drugs.
  2. Identify at least four short-term physical effects of drug use on the body during physical activity.
  3. Identify at least four long-term psychological and physical effects of drug use.
  4. Explain why taking drugs harms performance in physical activities like running, swimming, or football.
  5. Demonstrate a personal commitment to avoiding drugs by stating one reason they will stay away from drugs.

Learners discuss the short-term and long-term effects of drugs. The effects can be physical and psychological. Advice learners not to involve themselves in drugs. Let them know some of the dangers like sleepless night, loss of appetite, blood pressure, body temperature, panic, seizure, rashes etc.
