Learning Objectives
Indicator: B3.4.6.4.7 - Explain the meaning of body composition using fat and fat free body mass.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define body composition in their own words as the relative percentage of fat and fat-free body mass.
- Identify the two main components of body composition: fat mass and fat-free mass (muscles, bones, organs, and water).
- Give at least two examples of body parts or substances that make up fat-free mass.
- Explain in simple terms why having a good balance of fat and fat-free mass matters for health and performance.
- Sort pictures or drawings of foods and activities into groups that support healthy fat mass and fat-free mass.
