Learning Objectives
Indicator: B2.4.3.4.4 - Explain why it is safer to stretch a warm muscle rather than a cold muscle.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain that warm muscles are elastic and stretch more easily than cold muscles.
- State at least two reasons why stretching a cold muscle can cause injury.
- Demonstrate the difference between stretching a warm muscle and a cold muscle using simple classroom activities.
- Identify a warm-up activity that should be done before stretching in a fitness programme.
- Draw and label a simple picture showing a warm-up activity followed by stretching.
