Learning Objectives
Indicator: B9.3.5.1.2
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Demonstrate at least three different edge finishing techniques (lacing, facing, and scalloping) on fabric samples.
- Explain the purpose and appropriate use of each edge finishing technique for different types of articles.
- Produce a finished edge specimen that meets quality criteria such as evenness, neatness, and durability.
- Evaluate their own and peers’ finished specimens against a set of appraisal criteria and suggest improvements.
- Select the most suitable edge finishing method for a given sewing project based on fabric type and article purpose.
