Learning Objectives

Indicator: B3.2.2.1.1 - Describe how various festivals are celebrated.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Name at least two festivals from each of the three major religions practised in Ghana: Islam, Christianity, and Traditional African Religion.
  2. Describe in their own words at least three activities that take place during a named festival.
  3. Work in a group to act out or dramatise key activities from a chosen festival.
  4. Draw or label a simple scene showing one activity from a festival they have described.
  5. Identify feelings and values connected to festival celebrations, such as togetherness, sharing, and gratitude.

- Let learners, in groups, describe how various festivals are celebrated.
- Let learners dramatise activities that take place during the festivals.
- Let learners draw scenes from festivals: durbar of chiefs, drumming and dancing, merry-making, etc.
