Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.3.4.1.1 - Examine and discuss the differences among the various farming systems

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define at least five farming systems (land rotation, crop rotation, mixed cropping, mixed farming, and organic farming) in their own words.
  2. Identify the key characteristics of each farming system and list them accurately.
  3. Compare and contrast any two farming systems by stating at least two similarities and two differences.
  4. Discuss why farmers in different parts of Ghana choose different farming systems.
  5. Distinguish land rotation from crop rotation, which are the two systems learners most often confuse.
