Learning Objectives
Indicator: K2.2.3.1.7 - Prepare a shopping list, use money to shop for ingredients for the festival special meal.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Name at least three ingredients used to prepare a special festival meal in their family.
- Draw or write a simple shopping list showing the ingredients needed and the quantity (e.g., 2 tomatoes, 1 bag of rice).
- Count out the correct amount of money (GHS 1, GHS 2, GHS 5 coins and notes) to pay for items in a classroom shop.
- Count the number of people in their family and tell how many plates or bowls of food they would need to prepare enough for everyone.
- Solve simple addition and subtraction word problems about buying festival ingredients (e.g., adding the cost of two items, or working out change).
