Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.2.3.1.7 - Prepare a shopping list, use money to shop for ingredients for the festival special meal.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Name at least three ingredients used to prepare a special festival meal in their family.
Draw or write a simple shopping list showing the ingredients needed and the quantity (e.g., 2 tomatoes, 1 bag of rice).
Count out the correct amount of money (GHS 1, GHS 2, GHS 5 coins and notes) to pay for items in a classroom shop.
Count the number of people in their family and tell how many plates or bowls of food they would need to prepare enough for everyone.
Solve simple addition and subtraction word problems about buying festival ingredients (e.g., adding the cost of two items, or working out change).
