Lesson notes

Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.2.2.LI.1 - Identify and document image-making, and repetition processes and techniques used to create selected 2-Dimensional art or design works.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least five distinct image-making processes (drawing, painting, printing, collage, digital imaging) and four repetition techniques (repeat, alternate, mirror, tessellation) used in 2-Dimensional art and design works.
  2. Examine 2-D artworks found in their school environment and local community to classify them according to the image-making and repetition processes used.
  3. Document their findings in a structured studio journal or logbook, recording the process, technique, materials, and location of each artwork observed.
  4. Generate one manual pictorial example and one digital pictorial example of a repetition technique using local motifs or symbols.
  5. Present their documented findings to a small group, explaining how image-making and repetition processes combine to create visual rhythm and pattern in 2-D works.
