Learning Objectives
Indicator: 1.1.2.LI.2 - Émettre un souhait dans une conversation ou interaction. (Production et interaction orales).
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Recall and use at least 8 expressions of wishing (je voudrais, je souhaite, j’aimerais, bon voyage, bonne chance, félicitations, etc.) appropriately in spoken French.
- Formulate a personal wish using the structures “je voudrais + nom”, “je souhaite + infinitif/nom”, or “j’aimerais bien + infinitif/nom” in response to a prompt.
- Produce a short two-line dialogue in which they express a wish and react appropriately to someone else’s wish.
- Participate in a role-play or mini-interview where they express wishes for different situations (birthday, exam, journey, meal) and respond with the correct expression (merci, bonne chance, etc.).
- Distinguish between wishes for different occasions (celebrations, departures, meals, sleep) and select the correct expression for each context.
This lesson builds on the listening and speaking work from Weeks 5 and 6 where learners discussed their tastes and preferences using aimer, détester, adorer and préférer. In Week 8, learners now move from stating preferences to expressing wishes. The written work on wishes is scheduled for Week 9, so today’s focus is purely oral production and interaction.
