Learning Objectives
Indicator: 1.2.1.LI.4 - Tell your weight, that of people you know, or items you use.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Ask and answer the question “ما وزنك؟” (What is your weight?) and “ما وزنه/وزنها؟” (What is his/her weight?) using numbers in kilograms.
- State their own weight and the weight of at least three items they use daily (school bag, bucket of water, bag of rice) in complete Arabic sentences.
- Record the weights of group members and calculate the total weight of the group, comparing it with other groups.
- Use the Arabic terms for weighing tools (ميزان، ميزان الحمام) and weight-related verbs (يزن، يَزِنُ) correctly in short dialogues.
- Interpret a simple Arabic dialogue about weight and answer comprehension questions based on it.

Project-based, research-based learning, Question-Answer relationship strategy, think-pair share activities, Drills and Practice: Weighing scales are employed for learners to calculate their weights. Here medically appropriate weights of learners could be determined. All members of each group announce his/her weight to the class. Each group then records and calculates the weight of each member of its group, the sum total of which is taken and compared with the totals of other groups.
