Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.2.1.4.1 - Demonstrate acquisition of sufficient vocabulary of 30 words to orally construct sentences about independence celebrations. احتفال بعيد الاستقلال - حب الوطن

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Pronounce and use at least 30 Arabic vocabulary words and phrases related to Ghana’s independence celebrations, including احتفال (celebration), استقلال (independence), حرية (freedom), and وطن (homeland).
  2. Orally construct 5 to 7 complete sentences in Arabic that describe the historical facts of Ghana’s independence, such as the year 1957 and the name change from “Gold Coast” to “Ghana”.
  3. Participate in a class discussion in Arabic, using the modelled phrases to express personal feelings about national pride and love for the homeland (حب الوطن).
  4. Retell the key events of Ghana’s independence story orally in correct sequence, using appropriate past tense verbs and emotive language.
  5. Respond appropriately to questions about independence celebrations, demonstrating both comprehension of the vocabulary and the ability to express a sense of national identity.
