Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.2.1.1.2

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify and pronounce the Arabic names of at least 10 major world languages correctly.
  2. Match each language to its corresponding country or region using appropriate Arabic expressions such as اللغة العربية في السعودية ومصر (the Arabic language in Saudi Arabia and Egypt).
  3. Use the question pattern ما هي اللغة التي تتحدث في …؟ (What language is spoken in …?) to ask and answer about languages spoken in different countries.
  4. Construct simple spoken sentences stating which languages are spoken in specific countries, for example: يتحدثون اللغة الإنجليزية في غانا (They speak English in Ghana).
  5. Respond appropriately in a short paired conversation where one learner names a country and the other names the language spoken there, applying correct word order and pronunciation.
