Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.2.1.1.4 - Show awareness of basic personal health information and respond to greetings and gestures.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. State at least four common health complaints in Arabic (headache, fever, stomach pain, and general pain) with correct pronunciation.
  2. Use the expression “أشكو من…” (I complain of…) to express a personal health condition in a complete sentence.
  3. Respond appropriately with expressions of best wishes when someone is sick, using phrases like “سلامتك” (may you be safe) and “أمدك الله بالصحة والعافية” (may Allah grant you health and wellness).
  4. Acknowledge expressions of best wishes with appropriate responses such as “شكراً جزيلاً على الدعاء” and “شكراً، شفاء عاجلاً”.
  5. Demonstrate awareness of health conditions of others by constructing simple sentences describing a third person’s illness (e.g., “المريض يتناول الدواء” - the patient takes medicine).
