Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.2.1.1.1 - Examine ways of dealing with environmental challenges in the society.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define the terms environment, environmental challenges, and pollution in their own words using a thought shower strategy.
  2. Identify at least four types of environmental challenges in Ghanaian society (e.g., deforestation, illegal mining or galamsey, improper waste disposal, and water pollution).
  3. Explain how human activities such as farming, fishing, mining, and construction contribute to environmental challenges.
  4. Propose at least three practical ways of dealing with environmental challenges at the individual, community, and national levels.
  5. Present a short group presentation on a community-based project to manage an environmental problem, demonstrating clear speaking and collaboration skills.
