Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.1.3.2.1 - Discuss what is meant by clean energy and improved cookstoves and fuels.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Explain what clean energy is in their own words, giving at least two examples of clean energy sources.
  2. Identify at least four types of improved cookstoves and three types of clean fuels used in Ghana.
  3. Compare traditional cookstoves (such as three-stone fires) with improved cookstoves using at least three criteria (efficiency, emissions, and safety).
  4. Describe what happens when clean energy is used, including its effects on health, the environment, and household finances.
  5. Present findings on improved cookstoves and fuels using pictures, videos, or other sources gathered from ICT tools or community observation.

3. Watch pictures and videos on improved cookstoves and fuels and traditional cookstoves and fuels and make comparison of them.
