Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.3.4.LI.2 - Sketch areas in Ghana prone to floods, drought, bushfires and earthquakes

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least four regions or specific areas in Ghana prone to floods, drought, bushfires, and earthquakes, using evidence from maps and videos.
  2. Sketch a simplified map of Ghana showing the general locations of at least three environmental hazard zones.
  3. Explain, using a map key or legend, the symbols used to represent each hazard type on their sketches.
  4. Describe the physical and human factors that make certain areas in Ghana more vulnerable to specific hazards.
  5. Compare and evaluate different map sketches in groups, giving constructive feedback on accuracy and clarity.
