By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify and use common French abbreviations and expressions used in text messages (textos) and short written phone messages.
  2. Write a short text message in French to invite a friend to an event, using correct greetings and closing phrases.
  3. Respond appropriately to a received text message in French, showing understanding of the message content.
  4. Compose a brief written message to pass on information received by phone, using complete sentences or acceptable text abbreviations.
