Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.4.5.1.1 - Écouter/Regarder et comprendre un clip sur deux personnes qui communiquent par téléphone

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the main idea of a short phone conversation clip between two people (who is calling, who is answering, and why the call is being made).
  2. Recognise and understand 6 to 8 key telephone phrases heard in the clip, such as “Allô”, “C’est qui?”, “Je voudrais parler à…”, and “Au revoir”.
  3. Answer simple comprehension questions in French or English about who, what and where in the phone conversation.
  4. State whether the tone of the conversation is polite, friendly or formal, based on the words used.
  5. Match spoken telephone phrases to their meanings in English by listening carefully.
