Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.4.5.4.1 - Envoyer des textos

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify common French greetings and phrases used in text messages, such as “Salut”, “Bonjour”, “Ça va ?”, and “À bientôt”.
  2. Compose a simple text message in French to greet a friend using correct spelling and structure.
  3. Respond appropriately to a received text message in French with a suitable greeting and question.
  4. Use common text-message abbreviations in French (e.g., “bjr” for bonjour, “cv” for ça va) and recognise when to use the full form versus the abbreviation.
  5. Format a short message including a greeting, a question and a closing in the correct sequence.
