Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.4.5.1.1 - Écouter/Regarder et comprendre un clip sur deux personnes qui communiquent par téléphone et répondre aux questions.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Identify at least three key phrases used when answering and making a phone call in French, as heard in an audio or video clip.
  • Respond correctly to comprehension questions about who is calling, why they are calling, and what the outcome of the call is.
  • Match spoken French telephone expressions (for example, “Allô”, “C’est qui?”, “Ne quittez pas”) to their meanings in English.
  • Predict the content of a phone conversation based on visual clues before watching the clip.
  • Compare telephone greeting customs in francophone cultures with those in Ghana when prompted by the teacher.
