Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.1.1.LI.3 - Use consonant sounds in connected speech (Plosives, Fricatives and Nasals).

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify plosive, fricative and nasal consonant sounds in spoken words and connected speech.
  2. Classify given consonant sounds as plosives, fricatives or nasals based on how they are produced.
  3. Articulate plosive, fricative and nasal sounds accurately in words, phrases and sentences.
  4. Produce short connected speech (conversations, interviews or skits) that correctly uses plosive, fricative and nasal sounds.
  5. Listen to recorded or read-aloud texts and correctly identify instances of plosives, fricatives and nasals.
